Join the Department for Child Protection as an Annual Review Facilitator based across our Central Regional Offices including Woodville, Hindmarsh, Blair Athol and Mount Barker. In this meaningful role, you’ll arrange annual review meetings that place children and young people at the centre of decision-making. Working collaboratively with Annual Review Chairpersons and Cultural Representatives you will schedule and coordinate annual reviews across the region, supporting Chairs and Cultural Representatives to assess progress, guide quality practice, and ensure that every plan reflects the best interests of the child. Further, you will be responsible for formulating feedback to the relevant offices/supervisors along with ensuring working practices are in line with the DCP Manual of Practice and legislative requirements. Essential Qualification
- AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions are designed for applicants who hold a Social Work qualification and are eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- PO (Professional Officer) positions are open to applicants with qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Health, or other related fields.

- Salary: AHP2: $91,785 – $106,330 p.a. + 12% super

In this role, you will
- Independently facilitate and chair annual review meetings, providing oversight of the process to ensure decisions reflect each child’s best interests.
- Review case documentation and plans to evaluate safety, progress, and cultural connections.
- Collaborate with Practice Leaders, Aboriginal practitioners, carers, and families to promote open, culturally respectful discussions.
- Identify themes, trends, and areas for improvement, preparing clear reports and recommendations to strengthen consistency and quality practice.
- Contribute to a culture of learning and accountability, supporting continuous improvement across child protection practice.
To be successful
You will bring experience in social work or case management, underpinned by a sound understanding of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 and evidence-based practice. You are skilled at engaging with children, young people, carers, and professionals in a way that is respectful, balanced, and culturally responsive.
With strong analytical and communication skills, you can objectively assess information, identify barriers, and make clear, evidence-based recommendations. You’re confident facilitating diverse groups and translating complex discussions into meaningful action.
Your ability to recognise good practice, work collaboratively with Aboriginal practitioners and multidisciplinary teams, and maintain accurate, high-quality reporting will support consistent outcomes for children and families. Above all, you bring professionalism, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the safety and wellbeing of every child.
