As a Senior Manager following a 3-week fly-in fly-out (FIFO) roster, you will work across Coober Pedy, APY Lands and Adelaide to enact professional oversight of operational practice across the child protection system. You will apply strong cultural awareness and accurately identify and mitigate emerging risks that affect children and young people. This specialist role will facilitate statewide practice improvement that champions a culturally safe environment for clientele. It also provides immersive cultural experiences in South Australia’s regional heartland that shapes the department’s outreach to remote communities.

In this role, you will:
- Provide expert knowledge of practice trends, risk developments and interpreting legislation
- Oversee the execution of improvement methods of policies, frameworks and guidelines
- Enact culturally, ethically and trauma-informed decision-making to elevate service delivery
- Create innovative, evidence-based practices that strengthen mitigation strategies and statewide capability-building programs
- Generate high-quality executive briefings, annual reviews, and reports and represent the department on high-level committees.

Essential Qualifications:
- An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in either Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Developmental Education which entitles registration or membership with the relevant board or association.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
