We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker or Senior Professional Officer to join our team in Murray Bridge, as a Senior Practitioner. Use your expertise to support and mentor a diverse range of stakeholders, strengthen high-quality case management practice, and contribute to positive outcomes for children, young people, and families through continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a single vacancy offered under a dual classification, meaning it may be filled by either a qualified Senior Social Worker (AHP2) or Senior Professional Officer (PO2), depending on the qualifications and suitability of the successful applicant.
Essential Qualification:
- AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.
In this role, you will:
- Mentor and coach Social Workers, Case Managers, and Aboriginal Family Practitioners to strengthen their capabilities.
- Provide specialist advice and recommendations to support Youth Court processes and complex case management decisions.
- Contribute to workplace learning, staff development, and professional practice improvement.
- Assist with policy development, research, and innovative practice improvements across the department.
- Support practice excellence through quality assurance, case reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
- You can develop and maintain strong working relationships with people both within government, non-government sector and community.
- You have experience in reviewing cases and providing reports which include status updates and recommendations for improvements.
- You have knowledge of the Children’s Protection Act, Young Offenders Act and social work/case management theories and methodologies.
- You can analyse complex problems, facilitate constructive discussion and debate, and assess outcomes to identify effective solutions.
- You have experience in providing sound and practical advice on professional social work/case management matters.

Salary and Benefits:
AHP2 ($94,997 - $110,052 per annum) + 12% superannuation
- Additional 4% Child Protection Allowance paid alongside your annual salary.

- Qualification Allowance (may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role).
PO2 ($91,565 - $106,074 per annum) + 12% superannuation
