The Department for Child Protection is currently looking for a Senior Technical Support Officer to join the ICT and Information Management Services unit on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive technical support in the areas of desktop hardware and software applications.
- Liaising with external service providers on a technical level for the resolution of and software faults and other relevant matters to maintain quality customer service.
- Assisting in the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of all server, desktop and network infrastructure to the current supported products including the tracking of assets.
- Specifying, planning and verifying that installed network infrastructure in department sites is sufficient to meet requirements for the foreseeable future.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to provide technical expertise in configuration, problem solutions and application testing. This will assist you in responding to customer IT problems by undertaking analysis and providing effective solutions.
You will be able to operate in a complex and rapidly changing environment and make appropriate decisions in tight timeframes. Utilising your excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills will allow you to negotiate effectively with a broad range of relevant stakeholders.
If you have demonstrated experience in managing the execution of hardware and software rollouts and upgrades in a large organisation, and a sound knowledge of desktop operating systems, then this may be the role for you.
