Essential Qualification
- AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions are designed for applicants who hold a Social Work qualification and are eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- PO (Professional Officer) positions are open to applicants with qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Health, or other related fields.
AHP Position
Income & Benefits
- Salary: AHP2: $91,785 – $106,330 p.a. + 12% super
- Exclusive Allowance: Additional 4% for child protection social workers, permanently enshrined in the Enterprise Agreement – making DCP the highest-paying government employer in SA.

In this role, you will
- Evaluate applications and reviews using sound professional judgement
- Identify and manage risks related to carer suitability
- Provide clear written recommendations and briefings
- Support quality assurance across approval processes
To be successful
You have experience working in child protection or related fields and a strong understanding of how to assess and manage risk. You are confident making decisions that affect carers and children, and you approach this responsibility with care and integrity.
You can present complex information clearly in writing and are skilled at reviewing reports and forming recommendations. You look for ways to improve systems and contribute to better outcomes for children and families.
