The Department for Child Protection is seeking an Adventure Activity Instructor, Child & Youth Worker to join on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Developing, delivering and reviewing programs in conjunction with the Supervisor, focusing on the emotional, physical, cultural, educational and behavioural development.
- Building and maintaining working relationships with relevant agencies and organisations to share resources and coordinate connected services.
- Involving young people in decisions which affect them and consider their options when formulating programs.
- Undertaking research to identify best practices and alternative options, providing written and oral reports.
About You
We are looking for an innovative individual with experience developing and implementing events, activities and programs.
Our ideal candidate will be experienced in working with vulnerable children and young people in a residential or related care setting.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to actively listen, show empathy, build trust and apply culturally responsive child protection practices.
You will use your knowledge and experience of behaviour change models and adventure therapy to deliver a range of program approaches to meet children and young people’s needs.
