The Directorate for People and Culture is seeking a Manager to join and form a central component of our Workforce Strategy and Organisational Development Unit on a full-time term basis.
The Manager, Workforce Strategy and Organisational Development is responsible for leading the development and implementation of workforce strategies to support the mission of the department to protect and care for children and young people. In this role, you will be providing expert leadership across workforce planning, organisational development, capability building, cultural reform and change management. You will forge strong relationships with senior leaders, operational managers, external partners and cross-government forums to advance workforce priorities and influence reform.
You will play a key role in implementing initiatives that strengthen the ability to attract, develop and retain a skilled, diverse and resilient workforce, particularly in frontline child protection roles and regional and remote areas. You will also be leading Aboriginal workforce priorities by increasing Aboriginal representation across the department and in leadership roles, and contributing to Closing the Gap commitments for the department.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following capabilities:
- Experience in managing teams and providing clear guidance and directions to team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of government legislation, policies, systems and contemporary HR practices and their application within the SA Public Sector.
- Experience in developing and implementing a range of people and culture and change management programs.
- Knowledge of workforce processes, policies and the factors that support or hinder effective employee transitions.
