In this role, you will
- Build strong relationships that support open communication with carers and families.
- Provide practical guidance, education and brief interventions to strengthen day to day care.
- Identify risks, barriers and support needs to help carers provide safe and stable environments.
- Work collaboratively with case managers and partners to link families with services.
- Monitor placements and contribute to reviews that support the best interests of children.
To be successful
You bring a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people by supporting the families who care for them. Your understanding of parenting, family dynamics, trauma and child development will help you respond effectively to a diverse range of carers and situations.
You will be confident in working with people from different backgrounds, including Aboriginal families, and will use strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to guide and educate carers. Your ability to recognise needs, think creatively and build trusted relationships will help you make a real difference in this role.
