Our office in Blair Athol is searching for an Access Worker to provide access arrangements and interactions with children, young people and their parents and carers.
In this role, you will be:
- Facilitating the play/activities of children and young people during access visits.
- Safely transport children and young people to and from access arrangements.
- Providing services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
- Monitoring and responding to challenging behaviours, using strategies to diffuse conflict and contribute to program planning.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
- Efficiency in working collaboratively with peers, staff and stakeholders in order to deliver timely communications and services.
- Proficiency in interacting with vulnerable children and young people to understand current issues and achieve quality outcomes.
- Ability to manage workloads, organise and plan work activities taking into account the need to prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
