As a Senior Case Manager within the Country Support Unit (CSU), you will play a vital role in supporting country offices by providing professional case management for children and young people residing in the Adelaide metropolitan area. Working in partnership with regional teams, you will use your expertise to deliver high quality services that promote safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes, while mentoring others and making a real difference where it matters most.

In this role, you will

• Lead complex case management to support the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Undertake detailed investigations and assessments using a child-centred, evidence-based approach.
• Provide mentoring and professional guidance to less experienced team members.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Essential: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Sociology, Criminology, Justice, Correctional Practice, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

The Country Support Unit (CSU) provides dedicated case management support to children and young people who are managed by a DCP country office but currently reside in the Adelaide metropolitan area.

Our purpose is to strengthen case management outcomes by undertaking key casework tasks where distance limits the capacity of regional case managers to meet the required standards of practice.

The service accepts referrals for both ongoing case management support and one off tasks. While the CSU provides practical assistance and completes case actions on behalf of regional offices, primary case management responsibility, including case direction and decision making, remains with the referring country office. The CSU also records its involvement as a secondary worker within C3MS.
