The Department for Child Protection has multiple immediate Ongoing and Fixed Term contract roles available within the Far North Far West (FNFW) Region.

The Department for Child Protection is currently seeking various professionals with experience in working with children and young people to provide high quality support and effective case management within the Far North Far West region.

In this role you will work within a team to provide high quality service and support that will deliver significant improvements in the lives of children and young people. You will promote case discussion, reflective practice and skill building towards practice excellence. You will communicate, consult, network and partner collaboratively with a broad range of service sector providers to identify demand and match appropriate services to collectively meet children’s needs.

Key components of the roles include:

• Providing a high quality and effective case management service to respond to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines.
• Working with children who have entered into the care of the Chief Executive so their development, stability and security is assured.
• Assessing needs of children and families, and planning and delivering focused intervention to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
• Undertaking complex child protection investigations and assessments, assessing the needs of children and families

People from a wide range of different backgrounds, with skills and experience in many different fields working with children and young people are encouraged to apply. About the Pool

We are establishing a pool of suitable candidates who have successfully completed a selection process for this role. Should you be successful, you will be advised (in writing) that you have been recommended onto this pool. The pool will remain active for 12 months and during this time you may be contacted an offered employment. Essential Qualifications:

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

• AHP (Allied Health Professionals) – A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• PO (Professional Officers) – An appropriate degree qualification in community services, sociology, criminology, justice, correctional practice, social sciences, health, human services, mental health or related field.
