Our Kinship Care Unit is currently seeking Kinship Care Workers, to support effective program delivery across metropolitan Adelaide. This role works collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure the wellbeing of children and young people by assisting Kinship Carers in practical day-to-day care.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Supervise placements and provide information to case managers regarding the needs of children and young people.
- Facilitate links in communities and with social workers to assist in complex family negotiations.
- Assess individual and family needs while providing guidance and resources related to health, wellness and parenting.
- Provide practical skills, education and monitoring agreed actions with Kinship Care Workers.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and kinship systems.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in working with young people who display challenging behaviours.
- An understanding of children and young people who have experienced trauma and the impact on their development.
- A sound understanding of parenting models and family dynamics, with respect to parenting education programs and methodologies.
