About the Role
As a Regional Director / Director, you will:
- Lead and Inspire Change: Drive reform initiatives, champion cultural change, and ensure high-quality practices that deliver positive outcomes for children, families, and communities.
- Deliver Culturally Competent Services: Develop and prioritise culturally responsive programs for Aboriginal children and families, focusing on reducing overrepresentation and strengthening community connections.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee child protection initiatives aligned with our priorities, including family support, improving care experiences, and building leadership within the workforce.
- Strategic Thinking and Collaboration: Plans for future events, trends, problems and opportunities and exercise sound judgement, including developing creative solutions, stimulating new ways of thinking and solving problems.
- Quality Assurance and Safeguarding: Implement continuous improvement of the department’s Quality and Safeguarding functions, ensuring alignment with DCP’s vision, priorities and systemic reform agendas.
- Models of Care: Lead the implementation of models of care which are aligned with best practice and the national agenda for therapeutic, needs-based approach.
- Negotiate and Foster Collaboration: Build purposeful relationships with stakeholders, community leaders, carers and partner organisations to promote child protection and well-being.
- Build High-Performing Teams: Attract, retain, and develop skilled child protection professionals, ensuring readiness and resilience for future challenges.
About You

- Possess recognised expertise in child protection and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced in South Australian communities.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excel in strategic thinking and decision-making, with a proven ability to lead complex change and reform initiatives.
- Are committed to advancing the safety and well-being of children and young people while championing cultural safety and inclusivity.
