Join our Aboriginal Policy and Services Directorate as Manager, Strategic Policy and Reform and play a pivotal role in shaping policies that make a real difference for Aboriginal communities. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of culturally informed policies and projects that uphold legislation and align with key strategic frameworks. You will drive reforms that enhance care and protection responses, contributing to safer and more supportive systems for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander infants, children and young people.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders to develop and nurture strong networks.
- Play a key role in embedding the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle and Family Led Decision Making across DCP.
- Represent the Aboriginal Policy and Services Directorate and DCP on high-level committees and working parties.
- Develop high-quality, evidence-based learning resources that recognise the importance of culture and support improved wellbeing outcomes.
- Analyse reports, research and data relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child protection systems to provide timely and specialist advice.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to develop collaborative partnerships in a sensitive, intensive and high-stakes environment.
- Experience in human service delivery, with the ability to lead service and practice transformation and drive cultural and organisational change.
- Sound research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data trends and provide advice to inform program and policy development.
- Knowledge of intergenerational trauma, social determinants of wellbeing and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Extensive knowledge of the South Australian child protection system and relevant governing legislation.
