The Department of Child Protection is currently seeking a Practice Leader to join the team at the Kadina Office on a full-time term basis.

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for:

• Demonstrating practice excellence by providing advice, resources, mentoring and other support to strengthen the practice capability of staff.
• Recognising practice issues and implementing quality improvement strategies.
• Developing and promoting a learning culture within the office by sourcing relevant training opportunities.
• Participating in reflective supervision within the office, with a focus on reflective practice, providing educative support and ensuring wellbeing.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in providing an evidence based, ethically sound social work practice to children and young people, their families and carers.
• Proficiency in demonstrating leadership qualities, including engaging and motivating staff to achieve practice excellence.
• Expertise in demonstrating high quality interpersonal and communication skills, including legally defensible writing.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining a professional learning and development environment.

Essential Qualifications:

A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
