Join us at the Department for Child Protection’s Inner South office as we grow our team with a dedicated Social Worker or Case Manager on a full-time term basis.
In this role, you will:
- Work within a team to provide high-quality case management for children and families, following statutory guidelines.
- Support families by assisting the safe return of children to their care and ensure the development, stability, and security of children in care.
- Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and reporting incidents, hazards, and injuries, complying with DCP policies and procedures.
- Prepare concise, informative written and verbal reports based on evidence analysis, including giving evidence as a witness in court.
To be successful:
You’re a motivated, organised professional who understands the factors contributing to child abuse, especially in relation to child development, parenting, family, and environmental influences. You confidently apply this knowledge in your work and decision-making.
You communicate well and build effective networks with key professionals and families. You practise culturally sensitive child protection, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
