The Department for Child Protection is currently looking for a Practice Leader, Restrictive Practices to join our Adelaide office on a full-time term basis.

The role is responsible for:

• Leading the development and management of systems and policies for monitoring and reporting restrictive practices.
• Maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders and key business partners across the department, government and other service providers.
• Contributing to the improvement of policies, procedures, and systems that ensure safe, effective, trauma-informed care for children and youth.
• Coordinating and preparing clear, detailed and timely reports, memos, letters and briefings and monitor appropriate follow up action for management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience delivering culturally responsive, safe care to vulnerable children and families.
• Knowledge of restrictive practices and trauma-informed care for children with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of policies and practice guidance, with the ability to apply them effectively.
• Experience in leading and managing successful projects and programs.

Essential Qualifications: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
