The Department for Child Protection is seeking a
Practice Leader to join the Out of Home Care (OoHC) team on a full-time ongoing basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Identifying practice quality issues, proposing effective methods to address these issues and contribute to the implementation of practice improvements.
- Providing leadership and mentoring in social work practices and standards to social work employees and the greater OoHC team.
- Contribute to the learning and development of staff promoting good social work and culturally inclusive practice.
- Promoting and reinforcing professional ethics and standards in clinical and operational decision making.
About You
We are looking for a knowledgeable social work expert with extensive experience in a social work or case management capacity and high quality communication skills.
A clear understanding of the range of issues and systems affecting children and young people requiring care and protection and their families and carers is vital to this role.
Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to coach peers and other employees to assist in their professional development.
You will also have the ability to engage in evidence based, accountable and ethically sound social work practice and establish and maintain a professional learning and development environment.
