1.   The Placement Services unit in our Out of Home Care directorate are seeking a Program Coordinator to join their team.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for:

• Matching and assessing referrals for placement programs, including the Treatment Foster Care Oregon – Adolescents (TFCO-A), Next Steps, and Guardianship Family Day Care (GFDC) to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people in Out of Home Care.

• Developing, implementing and reviewing policies associated to work practices and providing regular reporting updates through the Out of Home Care Reform Steering Group (OOHCRSG) and associated committees.

• Developing and facilitating strategies to build positive working relationships and providing consultation and advice for placement programs to support client care, DCP staff and all key stakeholders.

To be successful in the role you will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities both verbally and in writing, and a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of social work/child protective practice legislative frameworks.

Essential: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

Essential: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.
