DCP is seeking a Regional Director for the Northern Region on a Full Time Term basis for up to 3 years.
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection and support of children and youth throughout both the metropolitan and regional areas of South Australia.

We are looking for an energetic and innovative person who is passionate about improving the safety and wellbeing of children and young people across our regions, including appreciating the complexities and challenges of being located in a regional or remote area of South Australia.
The Role is responsible for:
- The role will lead system change and reform across the region, including the design and implementation of cultural change reforms to ensure quality of practice and the best outcomes for children and young people, families and the community.
- Delivery of culturally competent services and programs to Aboriginal children, young people and families who are involved with DCP.
- Providing leadership and management that ensures the delivery of high quality protection services within the region, attraction, retention and succession planning of quality child protection professionals and managing industrial relations issues across the region as they arise.
- Developing and building strategic and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within the community and work in partnership with government and non-government organisations to consider children, young people and family issues and ensure the voice of children and young people informs service delivery and decision making in order to prevent children entreating the statutory child protection system.
You will have experience and recognised credibility in, child protection work with experience managing, leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams in a large, complex organisation.
You will offer highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate success in strategic thinking and planning in relation to the future needs of a workplace, including policy formation, business reform and change management.
You will have knowledge of the national landscape relating to child protection, Equal Opportunity and Occupation, Health, Safety and Welfare and an understanding of the Child Protection Systems Royal Commission and the South Australian Government response. If you’re ready to join us, apply now!
